I had a back injury years ago and I went for physio therapy. It really helps alot. That is the best thing for her at this point. Also a tens unit would help her alot. Moist heat is great. I finally got rid of my back pain when I went for accupuncture treatments. It helped me so much. I don't have the pain anymore. I had three herniated discs and now I'm good as new. Your friend can get much better, but don't push her, it's hard when your in alot of pain. She is lucky to have a good friend like you.
References :
a physical therapist may be a better choice for someone with a back injury. Losing weight would probably help to relieve the pain as well.
References :
Can someone with a permanent back injury exercise? Would a personal trainer be able to help someone like this?
I was thinking about getting some personal training sessions for my best friend because she has horrible back pain. I heard that exercise and losing weight can really help and thought it would be a good gift for her. We just talked on the phone however, and she said that her doctor said that her back injury is permanent. She can still walk but her back is never going back to normal and she will probably always have pain. Would a personal trainer still be able to help her? Or would she need something like a physical therapist? I am very worried about her and want to help her lose some weight and strengthen her back muscles so she doesn't have to be in pain such horrible pain all the time. Just because her back will never be 100% I can't imagine that her condition can't be improved at all. Thank you very much for looking at my question and I look forward to your answers.
